The Very First She Said Beauty Box (March)

Hello Beauties,

Happy Friday!

So today the very first beauy box from She Said Beauty arrived, been waiting on this baby for about 2 months now. To say i was excited is a slight understatement. I have to say, i'm really pleased with my first box, was worth the wait.

The principle is the same as Glossybox, Carmine, etc- a monthly subscription.

It arrived in a hot pink carboard box with a sweet little sticker:

The box itself is a beautiful sort of duck egg blue (reminds me of Tiffany's packaging), with a magnetic fastening. The products are nestled nicely in straw. It all looks very simple and chic.

Orly Manicure Miniature

I received this in the colour 'Black Out', i adore black nail polish so this is a hit for me. The colour glides on smoothly and has a very high shine finish. I also received an Orly Nail File.

We Are Faux Eyelashes

Oh you just can't go wrong with eyelashes when it comes to me, i'm a huge fan of them. They are an essential when it comes to nights out, etc. I received ones that are full and flirty, they are called 'Night Hunter'.

Collection 2000 Cream Puff

Now i haven't bought anything from Collection 2000 for years- it's never been a brand that i've been attracted to, so i was a bit disappointed to see this in the box. However i was pleasantly surprised with this. I received a beautiful colour, Cotton Candy. It applies smoothly and dries to a goregeous matt finish. I may just have to invest in a few other colours, it's that good.

Aveda Soot Infusions Trio

Three minis, a shampoo, conditioner and style- prep smoother. I've heard a lot about Aveda but have never tried anything from their range, so i'm excited. From the size of the samples, i'll get maybe two uses out of them.

Comfort Zone Good Night Kit

This is the product i'm least excited about trying mainly just down to owning too many creams, eeek i have them coming out of my ears! I'm also loving my Steam Cream from my Carmine box at the moment so i shall try this at a later date.

Jing Flowring Dragon Eye Tea

A light and fragrant green tea, i gave this to my mother as i don't drink tea. She's a fan of different teas: camomile tea, green tea, she loves them. I shall get her verdict on this later.

So there we have it...

The very first She Said Beauty Box!

If you are thinking of subscribing, they are currently offering you 25% off your first box (for a limited time).

What did you think of the first box, yay or nay?

February Finds & Magazine Freebies

Hello lovelies,

Today, as it's the last day of February- i thought i would share with you all some lovely bits & bobs that i've picked up over the last couple of weeks.

I picked up these goregous MUA Love Heart Lip Balms and a nail varnish from Superdrug, think they are still available on the MUA website.
The lip balms smell scrumptous and keep your lips nice and smooth, they costs £2 each as did the nail varnish. The nail varnish applies lovely, really pigmented. Only needs one coat!

I'm a blouse and blazer gal so when i saw these little gem's, i had to have them. The cream and pink ones from Primark, £10. The navy ones from H&M, £7.99.

The navy blazer is from International. Now, i've not shopped in International for years but when i walked past, i saw this blazer in the window and thought it was really nice. It cost £19.

I also picked up these Orange skinny trousers from H&M, think they are bang on for the whole 'orange' trend which is currently hitting the shops. Will look great on a night out with heels. They cost £14.99.

Speaking about heels, i got these babys from Primark, £12!

Magazine Freebies

Thanks to the wonderful Cherries in the Snow's blog post yesterday, i ran to Tesco to bag myself April's issue of Cosmopolitan. They are giving you a freebie from Clinique, i received the Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in Grapefruit. Theres a choice of High Impact Mascara, 7 Day Scrub Cream, Moisture Surge or Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss. The magazine itself costs £3.50.

Another magazine offering a freebie is the new April edition of Glamour. They are giving you a Percy & Reed product worth £10, the magazine costs £2. Bargain or what!
My local Tesco didn't have the new edition of Glamour in but i shall be returning tomorow to check again.

February's Carmine Box

Hi lovelies,

So today my February Carmine box arrived and Oh La La- it's a corker!

I've always been impressed with Carmine's beauty boxes, they are definitely the best when it comes to make-up products. I only subscribed last month as i use to just buy them as gifts. But i found myself buying the box every month so thought 'what the heck' and just subbed.

This months box has been no exception, once again they have spoiled us!

I had a little nosey at a spoiler (such a sucker for a spoiler) on the Carmine Face Book page on Saturday so i roughly knew what to expect. None the less, it was still a great surprise.

The Contents:

Andrea Fulerton Nail Varnish: Full Size

I received this in a lovely pinky/red shimmery shade.

Balance Me Rose Otto Body Wash: Full Size

I've tried a couple of Balance Me products before, their face oil and lip balm so i'm looking forward to trying this as their a brilliant brand.

Steamcream: Full Size

I received the tin with the lovely leopard print! I've heard great things about this cream so i'm dying to try it, was so pleased when i saw this was in the box.

Diego Dalla Palma The Lipstick

A fantastic little tester size of the famous lippie, i received this in the shade 42, which is a lovely beige/rose shade. I love trying out different lipsticks so will be using this.

White Glo Whitening Toothpaste

Oh i've never seen a toothpaste in a beauty box before, it looks great. I currently use Pearl Drops.

Yardley London Peony Fragrance

An added extra, a little sample of the fragrance. A very floral scent, over powering at first but once it dies down- it's ok.

Oh i'm in love with everything from this months box, well done Carmine.

What did you make of this months box?

OPI: Did you 'Ear about Van Gogh & Gouda Gouda Two Shoes

Hello everyone,

Hope you're all having a swell Monday.

My new OPI's arrived in the post today, yay. After much deliberation, i decided to purchase two shades from the Holland Collection, which were Did you 'Ear about Van Gogh and Gouda Gouda Two Shoes.

Did you 'Ear about Van Gogh is a really nice creamy nude, it applys like a dream and only takes two coats. It comes in a 15ml bottle and costs £11.00 from Beuty Bay. I'm in love with this shade, its perfect for Spring. It will go with everything in my wardrobe, i'm so impressed with it.

This is with the flash, below is without.

The second shade is Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, a dusty rose shade with a hint of sparkle. Again this comes in a 15ml bottle and costs £11. A stunning shade, perfect from Spring/Summer, applies nice and even and only needs two coats. A welcomed edition to my nail varnish collection.

I treated my mother to a manicure.

As with all OPI Nail Colours, you get a good few days out of them before they start to chip.

I've got my beady little eye on Thanks a Windmillion as my next purchase from the collection.

What do you think of the Holland Collection?

Please don't forget to follow my blog (Poochy-Tails, Eyelashes & Nails) to be included in my March Mini Giveaway to win a set of OPI Nicki Minaj Minis. You've got to be in it to win it ladies.

Whats in my make-up bag...

Hello lovelies,

So todays post is going to focus on my favourite make-up items that i'm using a lot of at the moment. I tend to go throuh phases, phases of wearing a pink or red lip, smokey eye or a paricular blusher.
However, some of these items below have stayed with me, for example Bella Bamba. I may mix it up a bit from time to time with matte blushers but i always go back to the trusty watermelon pink blush.
My favourites at the moment.

The primer that i'm using a lot of at the moment is Illamasqua's Matt Primer, it creates the perfect base for me to apply my make up and keeps the dreaded shine look at bay. This is around £19.50.
.
My favourite foundation is Estee Lauder's Double Wear foundation in the shade Ecru. I find that it goes on nice and smoothly and lasts a decent duration, i ususally get about 7 or 8 hours out of it. It costs around £26. I also recently purchased Chanel Perfection Lumiere, so i've been dabbling with that too. I'm going to do a seperate review about it soon.

I set my foundation with a little powder, i really like using Hello Flawless by Benefit. I find that it doesn't look cakey, just nice and natural, this is £24.50.

My blusher varies, im a huge fan of Bella Bamba- as i mentioned before. However, i have been using Sugerbomb a lot recently, it adds such a nice glow to my cheeks. I also use Hoola, a little sweep over my face and neck to add a some colour (without fake tan i look a bit like an extra from thriller), so Hoola is another essential for me. These cost around £23.50 each.

Top to Bottom: Bella Bamba, Sugerbomb, Hoola.

I love Urban Decay's Naked Palettes, they are a must have. I really love the pigmented colours, i find myself reaching for either one of them on a daily basis. They have everything to create a smokey eye to a soft natural eye, what more could a gal want? They cost around £36 each.

Top: Naked 2 Bottom: Original Naked

I adore They'e Real by Benefit, i was a huge fan of Badgal but i got this for my Christmas and i haven't looked back. It really exagerates my lashes and makes them look longer and fuller. The only downside it trying to get the darn stuff off at night, can be a bit of a pain to remove. This costs around £18.50

I always use a little Badgal Liner by Benefit on my water line, just to define my eyes a bit more. I received this in a set so i don't know about the price as it is no longer available on their site.

When it comes to my eyebrows, it has to be my Browzings kit by Benefit. I use this in medium and i find that it adds just enough definition without making them look too 'drawn in' or unatural. This costs £22.50.

My favourite lipsticks at the moment are Mac's Please me, Hue and Myth. Please Me is a really nice wearable nude pink, as is Hue. I have to be careful with Myth though, as if i add too much, it tends to look like the dreaded 'foundation lip' so more is less in this case. These cost around £13.50 each.

Sorry for the lack of pictures and swatches ladies, this is just a quick post as i'm away out on a cinema date soon. Going to see 'The women in Black' eeeek.

Whats your make up must- haves at the moment?
